Be A Hero
Have you ever thought of yourself as a hero? As a coach, chances are many of your athletes do see you in that light. Because of your influence in their lives, that is a very real possibility. You may have never thought of yourself in that role before. If not, I want to challenge you to start thinking in that way. Because of your position of influence, you also have authority. Young people often will choose those who have the greatest moral authority in their lives as their heroes.
Always remember:
What a coach says… what a coach does… and how a coach makes an athlete feel… will often be remembered for a lifetime.
