Impactful Coaching Project

Dr. Rob Ramseyer is the Vice President of Athletics and Strategic Expansion at Friends University, where he oversees 24 teams and also serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet. Under his leadership the athletic department has reached many milestones both on-and-off the field including two Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Commissioners Cups (KCAC), record fundraising and facility development, and helping lead the first capital campaign in nearly 30 years for Friends University. He was recently awarded the prestigious National Association of Athletic Director Association (NACDA) Athletic Director of the Year for the 22-23 academic year. He was also voted by his peers as the 2020 KCAC Athletic Director of the Year. He has been recognized by the Wichita Business Journal as a 40 under 40 award recipient and an emerging leader.

Dr. Ramseyer is particularly passionate about ensuring holistic growth of student athletes and in addition to his work with 3D Institute as a research fellow, recently co-founded “The Impactful Coaching Project”.

Dr. Ramseyer has a wealth of experience, previously serving at nearly every area of higher education. He served as the Vice President of Student Development / Athletic Director and Interim Dean of Students at Hesston College. He also worked as a college baseball coach prior to entering administration. He served as a head coach for four years where his teams twice set the school record for wins. Dr. Ramseyer earned his Bachelor of Arts from MidAmerica Nazarene University and went on to receive a Master of Science in Education in Sports Studies from the University of Kansas and a Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University. He has been married to his wife Charlie since 2009 and they have four kids together.
