Jim Dayhew is based in Sydney and has enjoyed a lifelong involvement in sport. As an athlete, he played for St George in NSW Premier Cricket and Sydney University in the NSW State Tertiary Rugby League. He has experience as an accredited coach in both sports. He has been a high school physical education teacher, sports coordinator, coach, and wellbeing leader.
Jim is a voluntary Character Coach and member of the Coach Technical Advisory Group at a youth Sports Academy in Sydney. During his academic research, Jim explored the potential of sport to develop character and nurture the holistic wellbeing needs of athletes. This learning was implemented in both a school Cricket Academy and in community sports coaching clinics, which he established. He mentors elite junior pathway athletes and is training others to do the same.
Jim is an accredited 3D Institute Presenter and brings his vast experience of 30 years in sports coaching, mentoring, wellbeing, education, leadership, and development. He is passionate about providing knowledge, skills, and attitudes, which provide impactful learning and transformative growth for coaches, teachers, parents, and athletes. He is an experienced facilitator of experiential learning methodology and has led 3D training for school sports administrators and coaches.
Jim is available to present in schools and the training meets NESA proficient teacher standards. He is also looking to connect with community club, academy, elite pathways, and professional sporting organisations.
