This course hits on a lot of topics that coaches need to be aware of and my not necessarily think of. Discussing topics such as relationships, culture, mind set, and mental health, contribute not only to an athlete during their time played but everyday life. Coaching goes beyond one practice, one game or one season.
Helpful and informative.
Great course, learned a lot.
More accountability (quiz, etc.)
The 3D Coaching for Sport Essentials course reaffirmed my belief that an emphasis on building relationships with student athletes and a positive team culture through the tool of servant leadership is the most important thing a coach can do. The lessons were important reminders that building a better person takes precedence over building a better athlete. In fact, the two actually work hand in hand.
This isn't a course its a sales pitch
I do believe in the ideas of 3D coaching but if you are looking for practical ways to hit the ground running you wont find it in this course. For that you need to sign up for the full training. I think they are trying to also compete and market this as a new coach orientation as toward the end they try to squeeze in some modules about topics outside the their 3D model. Those are too brief and ineffective.
I have no doubt that the deeper learning is good and can be of value to coaches, but you will find very little of that in this course.
This is a great course! Especially for new coaches. I will have entire coaching staff complete this training.
ok
Course and presenters kept me interested and involved. Created the "how can I use that" question in regards to our program.
Overall I thought it was very well put together. The structure of the course made it easy to follow along, and I especially appreciated being able to take notes directly on my computer while watching the videos—it made the learning experience more efficient and engaging.
The content was practical and relevant, and I believe it will have a positive impact on my coaching career. The 3D model provided useful insights that I can apply to help develop athletes not just physically, but also mentally and purposefully. Overall, this course has helped me grow as a coach and given me tools to become more effective in my role.
I like it. I use many of these strategies already. I do better with some, and some I still need to work on my implementation.
Very informative and very beneficial for all coaches and provides meaningful guidance for how to do what we do even better with more focus and intentionality
I learned so much through this course and it helped me establish why I went into coaching and how I want to move forward as a coach!
I really enjoyed this course. I have taken the course before as well as read the book. It was good to get a refresher on things that I can do to help me improve and grow as a coach.
This was a great tool for me. I will be watching it again before my season starts. Hopefully I can get my assistant coaches to watch with me.
At Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, we believe athletics is about so much more than competition—it’s about shaping lives. Every practice, every game, every conversation is an opportunity to guide our student-athletes toward becoming better people, not just better players.
This course gives our coaches a powerful framework to truly understand the impact they have on young lives. It challenges us to lead with purpose, to connect with intention, and to coach beyond the scoreboard.
With over 400 coaches in our athletic department, this shared experience creates a unified vision—a common language rooted in what it means to be a transformational coach. When we are aligned, our impact multiplies.
We believe in the power of sports to teach, to inspire, and to elevate. And when coaching is done right, it doesn’t just change games—it changes lives.

I enjoyed this course giving me some perspective and inside to 3D Coaching. I will share this with all of my coaches and ask them to invest in our athletes by taking it just as our district has invested in us by providing it.
I loved that the course focuses on leadership, culture, and character, and not specific sports strategy. Going through this course made me realize that there is just as much of a need for the mental and character development of my players.
Beneficial. Touches aspects of coaching some are afraid to involve themselves in.
I enjoyed the 3d Institute. It was great to learn new strategies/techniques to improve my team as well as being reminded of how to take a whole child approach to coaching my team.
