Course Overview
This course was created in partnership between the 3D Institute. The completion of this course, prior to assuming duties as an athletic director or coach, fully satisfies the OSAA’s Interscholastic Coaching Course one-time requirement.
- Gain a high-level understanding of the 3D Coaching Framework
- Learn about SHAPE America’s National Standards for Sports Coaches as processed through the 3D framework
- Complete this course as part of OSAA’s requirement to coach in the state of OR

I really enjoyed this course, which honestly came as a surprise to me. I would like to see it contain a few more segments on how to implement some of these strategies, rather than just what to implement.
This Course encouraged me greatly in that as a coach the impact I have is great and that I should be striving to be the best coach that I can. As a coach we are helping to shape our future with each and every kid we instill core values into. We can impact them for good and help them to grow into pillars in a community. so that one day they may teach more kids the true purpose in sports.
A fantastic course that gives both the high-level view of the 'WHY' coaching is an important calling as well as practical tips for how to achieve this. Seeing this course reinforced for me why I coach, and why I choose to make this a part of my life. Seeing so many things I already do, and so many things I could do to improve was a fantastic reason to take this course. Well done!
I have long been a believer in the mental side of the game., which includes the second and third tiers of your pyramid. Getting a list of recommended books at the end would be nice. I strongly recommend Mind Gym and Zen Golf and two that have great lessons for players and coaches.
This course is very important, it has opened my eyes to a greater understanding of coaching.
