This course was created in partnership with the Virginia High School League to satisfy the coaching principles portion of VHSL’s coaches education mandate.
- Gain a high-level understanding of the 3D Coaching Framework
- Learn about SHAPE America’s National Standards for Sports Coaches as processed through the 3D framework
- Complete this course as part of VHSL’s requirement to coach in the state of VA
This was a great course. It covered a lot and was easy to follow. All of the information can be quickly applied to coaching and really gets you to think about how to improve how you approach coaching your players.

This course gives a great look into the world of coaching and how important it is for future generations. The course provides almost everything you need to become a great coach, and I learned a lot from it.

I really like the focus on mental health this course has. It is just a big part of sports that is just now being talked about. I really enjoyed the additional resources this course offers as well.
The presenters were clearly enthusiastic. I liked how some of the quizzes were interactive and allowed participants to reflect on their own thought processes as it relates to coaching and areas they can potentially improve.

Great information
Very informative and gives a lot to think about to be an effective coach. It really drives home the need to reflect on how and why you are coaching and brings forward the power that a coach has to impact an athlete.
