This course is required for my position as a speech and debate coach, however the entire program focuses only on physical sports such as football and basketball. As a person who is not interested in physical sports, this made most of the content feel irrelevant and unrelatable. The program should consider a more trauma informed approach to coaching by ditching the "man up, toughen up" narrative and gendered language. We have multiple students on our team that are non-binary and this can often be dismissive of these students.

I really loved all the information. that was provided in the course. I strongly believe it should be viewed by all coaches. I wish I had a coach in my High School and College years that would have been through this course.

As a coach for more than 20 years, this course came a perfect time for me to revisit why I coach. It provided me the opportunity to think about my philosophy again, develop my Transitional Purpose Statement, and be reinvigorated heading into the next season. Thank you!

I have been coaching for 30+ years and this course is by far the best professional development I have experienced. I not only got information and ideas, but I came out with tools and a plan to implement this into my program. I highly recommend this for YOUR entire athletic program if you are looking to make a significant impact in your school for coaches, athletes, parents and community.

I really enjoyed this course. Although I do not coach a sport, I can still use the framework to coach my activity. I'm very excited to employ what I have learned. I really enjoyed going through this course with all of the activities directors in our school. I feel that the consistency in mindset across activities is going to be powerful.

This is hands down the best course I have taken in my 25 years as an educator. The fact that 36 of our coaches took this journey together gives me great hope for the future of our activity programs at Okoboji. I am optimistic this will not only show in the success of all of our programs, but more importantly by the impact we will have on our young people to be positive contributors to society well beyond their years at Okoboji.
