Course Overview
This course was created in partnership with the Virginia High School League to satisfy the coaching principles portion of VHSL’s coaches education mandate.
- Gain a high-level understanding of the 3D Coaching Framework
- Learn about SHAPE America’s National Standards for Sports Coaches as processed through the 3D framework
- Complete this course as part of VHSL’s requirement to coach in the state of VA
I enjoyed taking this course, through understanding each of the 3 dimensions, I feel I can be a better coach on and off the field for athletes.

Good course
This is a great course for learning the proper skills to lead as a coach. Good coaches are good leaders. They may not be the smartest at every technical aspect of their sport, but if they know how to plan, motivate and help their athletes to achieve their best… those are the best coaches and 3D coaching is a great tool to do that.

Very insightful and definitely gives coaches the resources necessary to do the best they can within their respective sport.
Very well organized and structured. Sets the course as a foundational building block to challenge you in not only your roles with student athletes as coaches, mentors, and counselors, but as a professional with co-workers, subordinates, and other work associates.

This course identified so many things I would like to embody as a coach. There were several practical and simple topics that I will be using and implementing. 3D coaching will be transforming and developing the program I represent.
