Description
Ideally, coaches and parents should work together for the benefit of the athletes. Unfortunately, too often there are rifts in this relationship that create problems for all involved. This course is designed to create a coach and parent partnership that helps solidify team cohesion and ultimately helps the athletes flourish in all three dimensions.
Over the span of 23 modules, this course will guide you through the “Dynamic Model for Cultural Alignment.” Just as all four wheels on a car must be aligned for it to move forward with efficiency, coaches and parents must be aligned on all four “wheels” of this model: Purpose, Process, Roles, and Trust. Along the way, you will learn practical strategies to align each wheel.
Once alignment is obtained, everyone (players, coaches and parents) will benefit from a unified effort and the program will move forward in the right direction.

What a great course and information given. Parents really are the downfall of a sports program. I think there should be more boundaries set for parents. They're included a little too much.

One of the greatest struggles for coaches today is the coach-parent relationship. This course provides useful and practical strategies that can help build and maintain a positive, trusting relationship with parents; one that sets parents up as allies, not adversaries.

I really enjoyed being reminded and even shown some new ways to communicate effectively and helpfully with my team parents. It makes me excited to put some of these practices to use with the upcoming season!
