Description

Ideally, coaches and parents should work together for the benefit of the athletes. Unfortunately, too often there are rifts in this relationship that create problems for all involved. This course is designed to create a coach and parent partnership that helps solidify team cohesion and ultimately helps the athletes flourish in all three dimensions.

Over the span of 23 modules, this course will guide you through the “Dynamic Model for Cultural Alignment.” Just as all four wheels on a car must be aligned for it to move forward with efficiency, coaches and parents must be aligned on all four “wheels” of this model: Purpose, Process, Roles, and Trust. Along the way, you will learn practical strategies to align each wheel.

Once alignment is obtained, everyone (players, coaches and parents) will benefit from a unified effort and the program will move forward in the right direction.

This course provides some great reminders and reinforcement from previous modules. Many great examples from coaches that gave my ideas to improve the quality of experience I can help provide for all athletes on the team.

I don't know if there is a perfect science/formula on how to deal with parents, but this course has great content in how to build a relationship with parents, gain their trust and ultimately have them help you to build a program.

The Parent/Coach bridge is always something that needs to be looked at and refined to help the student-athlete enjoy the sport they participate in.
