Description

Ideally, coaches and parents should work together for the benefit of the athletes. Unfortunately, too often there are rifts in this relationship that create problems for all involved. This course is designed to create a coach and parent partnership that helps solidify team cohesion and ultimately helps the athletes flourish in all three dimensions.

Over the span of 23 modules, this course will guide you through the “Dynamic Model for Cultural Alignment.” Just as all four wheels on a car must be aligned for it to move forward with efficiency, coaches and parents must be aligned on all four “wheels” of this model: Purpose, Process, Roles, and Trust. Along the way, you will learn practical strategies to align each wheel.

Once alignment is obtained, everyone (players, coaches and parents) will benefit from a unified effort and the program will move forward in the right direction.

We are preparing a presentation to give in Churches for Youth Coaches. This course has provided some great insight and examples to use in the Parent Coach Segment. This course is a natural extension of the 3D Coaching Course and addresses one of the most difficult situations in coaching today.

I have always excluded parents from all my sports teams. It was going to be my way or the highway. Through taking this course, I have seen how I have been missing the mark. Bridging the gap with parents is key. Thank you for addressing, and giving examples of ways of uniting parents, and coaches.

I was a successful coach for 35 years and used many similar techniques with my athletes. It was some of the most treasured times in my life and the relationships with parents and athletes are treasured. I wish I had this opportunity when I was a young coach, I wonder what would have been the outcomes.

3D should be instituted in all school districts, for the good of the student/athlete AND for the good of the coach!

Obtaining alignment between Coaches and Parents explores the partnership that should be in place among those stakeholders in a healthy program. The course consistently focuses on the aspects of the relationship that the coach can control and those that the coach can influence, emphasizing the role of purpose and the power of being a 3D Coach.
