Description

Ideally, coaches and parents should work together for the benefit of the athletes. Unfortunately, too often there are rifts in this relationship that create problems for all involved. This course is designed to create a coach and parent partnership that helps solidify team cohesion and ultimately helps the athletes flourish in all three dimensions.

Over the span of 23 modules, this course will guide you through the “Dynamic Model for Cultural Alignment.” Just as all four wheels on a car must be aligned for it to move forward with efficiency, coaches and parents must be aligned on all four “wheels” of this model: Purpose, Process, Roles, and Trust. Along the way, you will learn practical strategies to align each wheel.

Once alignment is obtained, everyone (players, coaches and parents) will benefit from a unified effort and the program will move forward in the right direction.

If coaches would use this before they meet with any parents - perhaps when they are still an assistant, aspiring to be the head coach, they would build a cultural that student-athletes and their families would be excited to join, and enthusiastically believe that they were a part of the program and it's accomplishments.

As a coach, one of the toughest situations I have encountered is dealing with an unhappy parent. This course gives you strategies to be proactive when dealing with parents. This course will help you grow as a coach and feel prepared with difficult situations encountered off of the field.

Didn't agree with some of the philosophy(normal when your old) but really enjoyed taking the coarse. I think it would be great for new coaches. I really liked the 4 wheels view.
